Navi Pillay, a former ICC judge who oversaw a UN report that concluded that Israel committed genocide in Gaza, ‌won the Nobel Peace Prize "for her efforts to promote peace and international law." Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy accused the US of being unwilling to help Ukraine after a Russian bomb attack killed at least 35 people in the east, sending the two-day death toll ‌from Russian strikes to over 70. Russian health officials are pushing back on fears of a second plague case after a worker died at a Siberian research lab. Global Health Correspondent Jennifer Rigby tells the Reuters World News podcast those reports have no credible sourcing to back them up. Attacks on Riyadh airport killed three people, Saudi authorities said on Friday, as Yemen's Houthi group stepped up missile strikes on the kingdom and tried to shut down its airspace in an escalating war ‌triggered by the US-Iran conflict.

US Treasury yields have risen sharply since the war with Iran began in February, with the 10-year yield up some 135 basis points to 5.23% and the 30-year yield up around 110 basis points from its March low to 5.614%. Both are trading at levels last seen more ‌than two decades ago. Here are four signs it is about to get uglier in the bond market. US companies are likely to deliver another earnings surge for the third quarter, and like the rally in the stock market, AI-related players are fueling most of those gains. The view from Indian engineer Tushar Shetty's Mumbai apartment captures a tension playing out around the world as the artificial intelligence boom fuels an unprecedented data-center building spree. Resistance to the spread of AI data centers is gaining ground in India.
