Trump also said he had ordered his Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to cut off all ‌trade with Spain, calling Madrid a "terrible partner" in the alliance. In other news Trump has sharply escalated his warnings about a communist takeover of the Democratic Party ahead of November's midterm elections. Preliminary findings from his team's focus groups suggest the message strongly energizes his base and could boost turnout among infrequent Republican voters. A US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent fatally shot a man in Houston while officers were trying to stop his vehicle, the agency said in a statement, in the midst of an escalating federal crackdown on migrants nationwide.
